Our Space

Edgewater Arts Retreat is a creative space situated north of Radium Hot Springs in the East Kootenays region of British Columbia. Originally built in the 1940s as a machine shop to service the local lumber mill, it was saved from disrepair and has undergone extensive renovations to develop it into a multi-use creative space for locals and visitors alike.

  • The building has over 1500sf of studio space for both fine art production and industrial applications. Its large windows and garage doors let in sunlight and fresh air while you create. It’s also supplied by 3-phase electricity that can power any large equipment or machinery to help bring your projects to life.

  • The studio space is designed to also function as an industrial exhibition space. Unlike the typical white cube gallery model, this space embraces the building’s machine shop past and invites artists to display their work in an unconventional, rural setting.

  • Edgewater Arts Retreat accommodates creative classes and workshops of all kinds, from traditional painting and drawing instruction to metal and wood fabrication, and beyond.
